The Lake Blackshear Regional Library System welcomes donations and memorial gifts according to the following guidelines:

Financial Support:

Monetary donations are accepted in the form of cash, personal check, or money order. Please make your check payable to the library to which you are donating. A receipt for your tax-deductible donation will be furnished.
Funds donated are used to support the purchase of new materials for the library’s collection, and you may choose to designate the use of your gift toward adult reading materials, children’s reading materials, the annual Vacation Reading Program for children, or for the greatest need.

Memorial Gifts:

Monetary and book gifts to memorialize and honor individuals are welcome. Donors may give a book or select a title for acquisition with their gift. A book plate will be added commemorating the gift. Both the donor and the honoree (or their family) will receive written acknowledgment of the gift.

Donations of Gently Used Books, CDs & DVDs:

Our library system is happy to accept gently used books, CDs, DVDs and other materials which may be sold in our Friends of the Library Book Sale. Once donated all materials become the property of the library. A receipt for your donation for income tax purposes will be issued upon request.
Small donations up to about 6 boxes can be dropped off any time at any of our libraries. For larger donations please call ahead.

Business Manager Position
The Business Manager is responsible for the overall management of the library system's financial and human resource operations.  This position reports directly to the Library Director.  Responsibilities include full financial accounting and reporting with knowledge of governmental fund accounting and knowledge of human resource management.  This position will also be responsible for the following:  Maintain personnel records, organize and prepare materials for board meetings, arrange meetings, attend board meetings and answer financial questions, prepare annual budget and any adjustments necessary, prepare request for support to funding agencies, prepare requested information for annual audit, maintain and file E-Rate paperwork, maintain fixed assets/inventory for the library system and all other duties required for financial and human resource operations for the library.  This is a full time position with state benefits.
Salary:  Dependent on Experience
Qualifications:  Bachelors degree in accounting or related field, or 4 years bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in governmental fund accounting.  Must have computer skills, including high proficiency with Excel worksheets and other Microsoft Office programs, strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to maintain accounting records in compliance with state mandated rules and regulations and must respect confidentiality of personnel and other office matters.  Knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge accounting software a plus.  Background check/drug screening is required.

Our Mission

The Lake Blackshear Regional Library System's mission is to provide organized access to information through various formats and meet educational, informational, recreational and cultural needs of the citizens of Crisp, Dooly, Schley and Sumter Counties, and to improve efficiency in operations.

The Sumter County Library Board meets at 6:00 PM on the first Tuesday of January, April, July and October at the Lake Blackshear Regional Library.
